本校が連携校となっている、長崎県立長崎東高等学校が主催するWWL高校生国際平和会議に、昨年度学校設定科目「海外研修」を履修した2年生の生徒２名が参加しました。本会議には、国外からはアメリカ、タイ、中国、オランダ、ウクライナ、国内からは、東京、静岡、大阪、奈良、兵庫、広島、沖縄の高校生と、長崎県内からは長崎東高校の他４校の高校生が、対面やオンラインで参加しました。パネルディスカッション形式で運営される会議への参加に備え、約１か月前から定期的にオンラインで、同一のパネルディスカッションに参加するパネラーやファシリテーターの生徒たちと交流しながら話し合いを重ねてきました。
As a partner school of the WWL initiative of Nagasaki Prefectural Nagasaki Higashi High School, two of our second-year students, who took the school-developed elective curriculum “Overseas Training”, participated in the WWL International Peace Conference for High School Students held in Nagasaki.
In addition to high school students from different parts of Japan (Tokyo, Shizuoka, Osaka, Nara, Hyogo, Hiroshima and Okinawa), students from the US, Thailand, China, the Netherlands, and Ukraine participated in this conference. The conference was held face to face, with some participants joining it online. In preparation for the panel discussion at the conference, students, panellists and facilitators have been holding regular online discussions for about a month.
プログラム1日目（７月27日） 交流行事と平和フィールドワーク
長崎東高校を訪れ、これまでオンラインでのみ交流してきた、長崎東高生や全国の高校生と初めて対面で顔を合わせました。実行委員の生徒が企画したクイズ大会には長崎をテーマとした内容が多く出題され、答え合わせをしながらお互いの出身地にも話題が及び、同じチームの高校生との交流を深めました。昼食後は会場を長崎市内の平和記念公園へ移し、平和ボランティアガイドの方の説明を受けながら、爆心地のモニュメントや浦上天主堂の遺構や被爆当時の地層を見学し、原爆資料館も訪れました。資料館内で小グループで行われた話し合い活動では、自分にとっての平和とは何かを言葉にし、またその実現のために何ができるかについて意見交換をしました。
Day 1 Program (July 27) Exchange and Fieldwork
Having interacted online for the past month, student participants finally met in person at Nagasaki Higashi High School. To deepen exchange between students from different areas, the student executive committee planned a quiz with many questions related to Nagasaki to facilitate interaction. After lunch, fieldwork at the Peace Memorial Park in Nagasaki City began. Students toured the remains and monuments at the site of the nuclear bombing, the remains of the Urakami Cathedral, and the Atomic Bomb Museum while listening to explanations from Peace volunteer guides. During the small group discussion held inside the museum, participants expressed what peace meant to them and exchanged opinions on what they could do to achieve it.
プログラム2日目（７月28日） 国際平和会議でのパネルディスカッション
長崎ブリックホールを会場として行われたWWL高校生国際会議は、「経済」「環境」「共生」「社会」をテーマとして、一部オンラインによる参加者も交えたパネルディスカッションが行われました。長崎東高校の全校生徒が客席から見守る中、三島北の生徒は、「経済」と「社会」の日本語部門のパネルディスカッションに臨みました。
このうち、「ディーセントワークの推進：誰もが働く喜びを実感できる社会に」をサブテーマとした「経済」部門においては、本校参加者の内山和緒さん（2年）が「雇用の流動化」を提唱し、議論を深めました。また、「ジェンダー平等の実現：すべての女性が幸福になる社会に」をサブテーマとした「社会」部門に参加した、小野琳瑚さん（2年）は、他国で実施されているパパクオータ、ママクオータという育児休業制度や、企業における研修制度の重要性について言及しました。
Day 2 Program (July 28) Panel discussion at the International Peace Conference
At the WWL High School International Conference held at the Nagasaki Brick Hall, panel discussions were held on the themes – economy, environment, coexistence, and society; with some participants joining online and students of Nagasaki Higashi High School watching as the audience.
Students from Mishima-Kita took part in panel discussions on economy and society. Specifically, our school participant, Nao Uchiyama, participated in the discussion on “Promoting Decent Work: Creating a society where everyone can feel the joy of working,” in which she advocated for increasing mobility of employment. Another participant from our school, Ringo Ono actively participated in the discussion on "Achieving Gender Equality: A society where all women can be happy,” where she talked about a leave system called “Papa Quota, Mama Quota” which is being implemented in other countries and the importance of having training systems in companies.
参加生徒の感想
- ２日間を通して世界平和、経済について学び、他校の生徒との交流や長崎の雰囲気を楽しんだ。 長崎は古くからの文化があり、国際的な関わりがある歴史的な街だった。平和公園や原爆資料館にも訪れた。私にとって初めての平和学習だったため、とても印象に残った。実際の写真や、残っている展示物はどれも衝撃的で、自分が無知であることを痛感した。他校の生徒ともディスカッションをして、自分たちがまず事実を知り、それを1人でも多くの人に伝えていくということが1番効果的なことだとわかった。より多くの高校生に、核の恐ろしさや、まだ世界にはたくさんの核兵器が存在していることを知って欲しい。 パネルディスカッションでは、経済についてディスカッションした。何日も前から準備を重ねてきて、大成功させることができたと思う。ディーセントワークについて考え、自分なりの意見を持つことができた。ひとつの議題について、こんなにも真剣に考えたことはなく、メンバーと共に達成感を味わえてとても嬉しかった。パネルディスカッションの進め方や、意見の伝え方なども学ぶことができて、とてもためになった。多くの人の前でディスカッションをしたことは緊張したけれど、このような機会があればまた参加したい。 とても充実した経験をすることができてよかった。
Over the two days, I learned about world peace and economics, interacted with students from other schools, and enjoyed the atmosphere of Nagasaki. Nagasaki was a historical city with deep international ties. We also visited Peace Park and the Atomic Bomb Museum. It was my first-time learning about peace, so it left a deep impression on me. The photos and the exhibits were all shocking and made me keenly aware of my own ignorance. I have learned to appreciate the importance of having discussions with students from other schools – first, to know the facts, and then, to convey them to as many people as possible. I want more high school students to know the horror of nuclear weapons and that there are still many nuclear weapons in the world. In the panel discussion, we discussed about the economy. We've been preparing for it for days and I think it was a fruitful discussion. I was able to think about decent work and form my own opinion. I've never thought about one topic so seriously, and I was very happy and felt a sense of accomplishment working with my discussion members. I was able to learn how to conduct a panel discussion and how to convey my opinion, which was very useful. I was nervous about having a discussion in front of many people, but I would like to participate again if I have an opportunity like this. I am glad that I was able to have a very fulfilling experience.
- まず、平和フィールドワークでは、長崎の平和学習や平和に対する意識が高いことが分かりました。しかし、私たち静岡県は平和に対する意識が低いと感じたので、これからもっと考えていく必要があると思いました。平和について海外の学生と話し合った時は、英語が上手く使えず反省もありましたが、ハワイやオランダの学校の平和学習などについて知り、意見交換ができて楽しかったです。 2日目の国際会議では、今までオンラインでしかディスカッションをしてこなかったので、とても緊張し、不安でしたが、他校の高校生がとても優しくしてくれたのですぐに仲良くなることができ、心強い気持ちで会議にのぞめました。多くの人の前でディスカッションをするのは初めてでしたが、自分の意見を持って発言し、他の人の意見も自分の考えの中に落とし込んでいくことの大切さを知ることができました。 初めは何もかも不安でしたが、他校の高校生の力もあり、みんなで助け合い長崎の国際会議やフィールドワークを乗り越えることができたと思います。
First of all, during fieldwork, I learned that Nagasaki has a high level of awareness of peace because of their established peace education. However, I felt that we in Shizuoka Prefecture are less aware of peace, so I think we need to think more about it. When I talked about peace with overseas students, I regretted not being able to use English well, but it was fun to hear about peace studies at schools in Hawaii and the Netherlands, and to exchange our opinions. At the international conference on the second day, I was very nervous and worried because I had only had online discussions until now, but the students from other high schools were very kind to me, so we quickly became friends, which gave me a sense of reassurance during the discussion. It was my first time to have a discussion in front of many people, but I learned the importance of speaking my own opinion and incorporating the opinions of others to my own thinking. At first, I was really worried about everything, but I think we were able to make the challenging international conference and fieldwork in Nagasaki a success by helping each other.
